Message :if you are only interested in drag racing. Did you ask Gary Owens what his intentions were or are you assuming he wanted to build a car for drag racing?

Garys original plan;
800rwhp MONSTER HP!!!!

change of mind;

this is kind of a cute, albeit not directly related...

The only defined purpose that can I determine is that of a '800rwhp monster' dyno queen. Then it became a 500 to 600rwhp street car. It's just confusing is all...The story seems to change. If everyone with 500-600rwhp named their cars, it'd get kinda bizarre around here.

Regardless, it's nice to know that shops in the US can make 800+RWHP on the juice (SpecialtyZ, SGP, and Z1 all have), although it's been done in Japan for 6 or 7 years.

What i'd like to know is why Gary doesn't have his car back yet, 1 month after he was supposed to pick up his car.

Its my understanding that the car was not intended to be a drag car, nor was Mike Kojima's car.
Mike Kojimas car was built as an all around performer. Its been documented at length, through the publication.

He seemed to put as much effort into suspension, handling, braking, and cooling as what he did to achieve his 500rwhp engine build.
There is no question that Garys car intention was bragging rights on the dyno. Perhaps he will come to Hallet Raceway (roadcourse) in Tulsa Oklahoma in September with the Z club and prove everyone wrong.

I think that's why those who do experience road courses become hardcore about it. Road Courses prove your braking, handling, and horsepower modifications... it justifies everything you've done to modify your car. It also developes skills that I have used on public roads (being smooth through turns and braking primarily)

There isn't an argument.
Garys car was initially built to be a monster HP dyno puller and freeway puller. Why does the Z1 posse need to defend anything?
